Charanpreet Singh Lall was part of the Queen's birthday festivities in London this weekend as part of his duties in the British Army.

The India-born Sikh became the first guardsman to wear a turban during the parade. His fellow soldiers sported furry bearskin hats.
The guardsman told the BBC, "I hope that more people like me, not just Sikhs but from other religions and different backgrounds, that they will be encouraged to join the Army."
Many took notice of Lall and cheered on the soldier, including some celebrities and Indian government officials.

The Queen's 92nd birthday was in April, but British royalty also celebrate it with an official ceremony the second weekend of June with soldiers, horses, a 41-gun salute, and a Royal Air Force flypast.
